Sock and lace scrap sweater for Polly

A few skeins of unwanted sock yarn held together with some lace. It was straight ahead, using a simple top-down pattern I’ve used so many times. I had a few issues with the stripes as the amount of yarn in each color pretty much directed the arrangement … Basic and comfy sweater that will be used a lot, but not a big deal really …

… and a single merino/silk from DesignClub.
My local yarn store is selling out as they are moving their business online. Sad, as we need those stores, to physically touch and smell the fibers. There was a discount of 50% on selected yarns, which brought me back home with a beautiful collection of Rowan fine tweed and felted tweed DK. I’ve always had a soft spot for the colors and feel of Rowan’s tweed. It’s beautiful, don’t you think?
550 g. in total for DKr.331/$58 :)
Oh … and a single skein of light-fingering merino and silk for summer:
… and three pink palm tree buttons:
That was it! :)

Luxurious Silky Merino from Malabrigo meets cheap soya yarn from my local discount supermarket. But how they suit each other well !!!
There’s a price difference of $7 per skein …!

This is going to be the softest most beautifully colored shawl ever ♡
A strand of kid mohair and silk, held together with Malabrigo Lace 100% Merino in the shades of ochre, yellow and a little bit of olive/lime …
Can’t decide upon the right pattern as the yarn is so georgous, but I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as it includes knitting …
Finishing the shawl

Though I only missed a few rows of My Swedish Summer Autumn Shawl when we headed back home from our vacation, it took me three weeks to finish it. It only felt right to work on the shawl in front of the bonfire and not back home in the living room …
Eventually I succeeded and I love the colors, the variegation and the smoothness of Malabrigo Sock ♡ The jagged edge is not intentional though, but it’s really hard to pin 106 inches straight :)

It makes sense to use scrap for something nice. In this case it turned into a hearty hat for my daughter. The fit is perfect so I’m sure it’ll be used much as we approach the Fall :)
Didn’t take much yarn – or time – I could hardly tell from the basket that some of the yarn had gone and the knitting only took me a day off from work – left all the ends to be weaved in to the next :)
